Rush Hour

This has been a surprise hit in our family - originally we found this lying around in the charity shop not expecting too much, but it quickly became an addictive favourte

Setup & Rules

Setup is pretty simple, you have a number of cars and trucks of varying sizes that you place into a small black grid, according to a layout specified from a card chosen from a deck of 40 challenge cards. Each card has a difficulty level, and the aim is to get the little red car out of the grid by pushing the cards around.

Gameplay and Difficulty Levels

The game is listed as being for ages 8 upwards, but we found that our 6 year old at the time would happily play on some of the easier card layouts. That’s the beauty of the game - the varying card difficulties means there is something for everyone. As a bonus, the game is small enough to take on car trips.

Quality and Design

Perhaps the major drawback to the game is it’s construction, which is cheap plastic overload. Everything feels quite flimsy, and the sound the cars make as they get pushed around can be quite irritating…

Overall Rating

Design issues aside, this is a great brain teaser that is played by both adults and children in our household.
